World Economic Forum
KBL epb is an active member of the World Economic Forum, an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
As both an Industry Associate Partner for Banking & Capital Markets and Regional Associate Partner for Europe, KBL epb participates in key events such as the Annual Meeting in Davos and the World Economic Forum on Europe, MENA and Eurasia.
Founded in 1971, the World Economic Forum has provided a critical platform for furthering peace and reconciliation in many parts of the world, promoting understanding between East and West before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, introducing emerging economies such as China and India to the international community, and bringing to the fore the latest trends and developments in many fields.
The Forum has also been the catalyst for a number of significant global initiatives, such as the Global Compact (developed jointly with the UN); the GAVI Alliance (initially the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization); the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; the expansion of the OECD; and the development of the G20 concept.
